Title: Creator of Opportunities (Leader of New Business)

Job Description: The Creator of Opportunities participates in further accelerating the firm’s growth by implementing a strategic sales process, overseeing its execution and producing measurable results.  This talented individual will collaborate with firm leadership, marketing, technology and financial teams to build a comprehensive sales system that fosters a greater number of sales opportunities, associate selling skills and a more streamlined and efficient sales process.

Functions & Responsibilities

  • Create strategic sales plans across sales verticals (Corporate, Nonprofit and High Net Worth)
  • Collaborate with firm leadership and Marketing department on planning and developing key sales initiatives
  • Prioritize and design sales efforts and marketing campaigns based on market potential and profitability
  • Gather information and present analysis of competitive landscape to help identify key differentiators and opportunity drivers
  • Identify key distribution channels (direct sales, client referrals, conferences, COIs, etc.), measure effectiveness and incorporate into strategic sales plans
  • Systematize sales process throughout stages of lead generation, opportunity qualification, prospect meetings and sales presentations
  • Create system to solicit, summarize and report on feedback from sales opportunities to identify strengths and weaknesses
  • Identify internal opportunities and create solutions to enhance cross-selling efforts
  • Develop, coordinate and facilitate sales trainings and other activities
  • Actively participate in RFP qualification and pricing meetings
  • Partner with Director of Financial Operations and Marketing department to track efforts and monitor KPIs
  • Follow up with leads, qualify opportunities and schedule meetings both internally and externally
  • Establish sales module and procedures within CRM to ensure an effective and efficient sales process execution
  • Provide feedback to firm leadership on department and individual sales performances
  • Participate in other ad-hoc business development projects

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics or related concentration required
  • Six Sigma or MBA a plus
  • 5+ years’ experience in sales/marketing management or business development, or a combination
  • Advanced knowledge of CRM tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel is required
  • A high level understanding of the financial services industry
  • Proven ability to drive a sales process from plan to close
  • Proactive communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Resourceful and comfortable working independently
  • Skilled problem solver with proven project management skills
  • Strategic business partner at all levels of leadership
  • Time management and organizational skills

Travel Requirements

  • 5% travel for trainings and or business events

Work Environment:

  • This role works in a professional office environment located in downtown Chicago
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers
