Job Description: DiMeo Schneider & Associates, L.L.C., a nationwide investment consulting firm, seeks a passionate, ambitious and people-focused Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Chicago, IL. This role supports the Director of Human Resources and the firm in obtaining, developing and retaining talented professionals. Functions & Responsibilities

  • Prepare, post and maintain job requisitions
  • Review applications, source and phone screen candidates
  • Coordinate all stages of the interview process
  • Prepare for the on-boarding and off-boarding of associates
  • Input data, process and run payroll reports
  • Assist associates with navigating benefits inquiries
  • Organize and maintain detailed HR records
  • Maintain compliance and conduct regular HR audits
  • Assist the department in maintaining legally sound policies, procedures and required postings
  • Assist HR Director with culture, engagement and recognition initiatives
  • Ensure regular performance appraisals are being executed by management
  • Coordinate, attend and participate in various meetings and events
  • Input associate record data, pull reports and analyze results from HRIS
  • Monitor the completion of required employee trainings
  • Create HR communication and collateral
  • Participate in the build out of department goals and projects
  • Responsible for the execution of HR administrative tasks
  • Assist the HR Director with ad-hoc projects and requests


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree with a preferred concentration in Human Resources, Psychology or Business – required
  • aPHR, PHR or SHRM-CP certification – a plus but not required
  • 2-4 years’ experience as an HR Admin, HR Coordinator, HR Generalist or Recruiter – strongly preferred
  • High level knowledge of financial services industry – a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel – required
  • Experience working with HRIS, ATS or Benefit Management software – preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of HR best practices and current regulations
  • Empathetic and easily able to establish rapport with others
  • Ability to read a situation and address conflict in a proactive manner
  • Comfortable public speaking with strong presentation skills
  • Flexible when priorities shift and able to work autonomously
  • Must be resourceful, reliable and dependable
  • Sound judgement and problem solving skills
  • Innovative, curious and enthusiastic
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy and organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Must be a good listener
  • Thoughtfully driven, accountable and able to check your ego


Travel Requirements

  • 5% travel for trainings and or business events


Work Environment:

  • This role works in a professional office environment located in downtown Chicago
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers
