Title: Research Analyst

Reports to: Research Director – Global Private Markets


Job Description:
DiMeo Schneider & Associates, L.L.C., a nationwide investment consulting firm, seeks a passionate, results driven and humble Research Analyst to join our Global Private Markets team. This associate will collaborate with other dynamic and bright research professionals in exploring and evaluating private market managers (Equity, Credit, Real Estate and Real Assets).


Functions & Responsibilities

  • Proactively source new investment opportunities across all private asset classes
  • Attend and lead current and prospective manager meetings
  • Lead the underwriting process across private markets funds including both qualitative and quantitative analysis and the preparation and review of Investment Committee materials
  • Conduct deep dive analysis on underlying portfolio investments
  • Analyze and monitor existing investments
  • Educate Consultants and clients on the private markets industry and specific fund opportunities
  • Assist the Research team with ad-hoc projects and requests, including funds and direct investments
  • Lead strategic/thematic investment research
  • Create internal research papers and memos


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree with a preferred concentration in Investing, Finance or Economics – required
  • An MBA, CFA or CPA – a plus
  • 3 years’ relevant professional experience
  • Experience in private markets and deep industry relationships – a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel – required
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Able to grasp new software quickly
  • Confident in group settings with professional presentation skills
  • Flexible when priorities shift and able to work autonomously
  • Must be resourceful, reliable and dependable
  • Sound judgement and problem solving skills
  • Innovative, curious and enthusiastic
  • Comfortable sharing new ideas and collaborating with others

Travel Requirements

  • 10-15% travel may be required with more over time

 

Work Environment:

  • This role works in a professional office environment located in downtown Chicago
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers
